DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM

The Department of Tourism (DOT) shall be the primary government agency charged with the responsibility to encourage, promote, and develop tourism as a major socio-economic activity to generate foreign currency and employment and to spread the benefits of tourism to both the private and public sector.

PHILIPPINE CONVENTION AND VISITORS CORPORATION

The Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation (PCVC) is a non-stock, non-profit, government-controlled agency tasked to implement the promotional activities of the tourism industry involving government and the private sector, particularly in organizing special events, expo projects and fairs, as well as, conventions promotions. It is attached to the Department of Tourism and organizes promotional activities in support of the DOT marketing plan. In its charter, the agency is open for membership to entities, groups and individuals in the travel and convention business. To date, it has 104 members.

   

HOTEL SALES AND MARKETING ASSOCIATION

The Hotel Sales and Marketing Association is an organization of the top sales and marketing professionals in the leading international hotels and resorts in the Philippines. The association is active in the promotional and marketing program of the Department of Tourism and allied organizations with the common aim of expanding tourism to the Philippines. Founded in 1979, the HSMA has kept its core values of professionalism, education, training and non-professionalism. The association has been true to its mission of being a forum of hotel and resorts sales practitioners who head the Marketing Divisions to dialogue on common issues, emerging trends and technology and liaising with other tourism groups.
